Mayerthorpe FCSS provides financial support for the COOL Camp that is a mentoring program designed for grade 8 students. This program provides students with information, which will assist them in making wise and informed choices regarding their personal development. The program helps teens recognize and resist various pressures including pressures towards early sexual involvement. It helps teens to explore strategies for dealing with these pressures. Although protection from disease and pregnancy is covered throughout the program, the emphasis is always on abstinence.
